Disease and it’s Origins
Disease manifests when Qi no longer flows correctly in the body and Yin and Yang are no longer in balance and the body loses the ability to rebalance itself. The state of disease may be reached, if the ‘stress’ on the body is too extreme, or the duration of the stress is too long, or the body is too weak in general to resist the stress. At this point, even if the stressor is removed, the body’s homeostatic systems may become overwhelmed and you may require therapy and or a lifestyle adjustment to help your body regain its Yin Yang balance.
There are many factors that unbalance Yin and Yang and can lead to the above mentioned state of disease. Chinese medicine classifies them into External and internal factors. External factors include pathogens (viruses, bacterias, fungi, other microorganisms), drugs / toxins / pollutants, injury, lifestyle (diet, activity and rest) and climatic and astrological conditions. Internal factors include people’s genetic constitution and emotions / stress / thoughts.
